Based on the so-called Terrapin Schooners of the late 19th century that were used for turtle fishing along the Gulf Coast, this quality model kit uses pre-cut interlocking and self-aligning parts to simplify construction. The wood parts are made of Basswood, Mahogany and Balsa. All the fittings, hardware and wood are included plus full size rolled plans and a comprehensive construction manual. Also included is a display stand for the finished boat. The kit does not include glue, tools, finishing supplies or paint. This is a skill level 2 kit recommended for persons with some boat building experience and is suitable for ages 14 and up. The finished model will measure 17" long with a 3-3/4" beam and a 12" height. The scale is 3/8"-1'.
